Cataloging and Circulation

Routine circulation functions fulfilled by SRM Librarians include checking-in/out of library materials, performing Interlibrary Loan (ILL) transactions and sending document availability notifications to researchers. Librarians facilitate access to public materials such as books and journals as well as controlled reports.

Research and Reference

SRM employs state-of-the-art research methods to ensure timely and accurate responses to our customer’s research requests. In addition to guiding researchers in the use of online databases, such as IEEE's Xplore Digital Library and Information Handling Service's (IHS) Standards Expert, SRM Librarians interview Scientists, Engineers and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to gather information for our customers.

Document Control

SRM Management Analysts perform a variety of Document Control functions, including:

Barcoding and tracking controlled materials

Facilitating delivery and transmission of controlled material between NUWC researchers and their external research partners

Destroying controlled materials
