General Machine Shop Worker and Painter’s Helper

Job Description

Systems Resource Management, Inc. (SRM) is currently seeking an individual possessing common knowledge of modern machine shop operations with experience in, or the ability to learn sandblasting, grinding, paint masking and preparing of machined parts, helicoil inserts and removal, wrap parts for shipping and more.  This position supports the Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport (NUWCDIVNPT) and requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. In addition, you must be capable of obtaining certifications in compliance with the Military standards as a new or existing federal employee. Hours to be worked are 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM (first shift), Monday – Friday, with a possibility of over time when available.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Set-up and operate machinery and tools such as:
    • Sandblaster
    • Surface and Tool Grinders
    • Power Chisels
    • Band Saws and Cut-off Saws
    • Drill Presses and Power Drills
    • Belt Sanders
    • Taps and Dies
  • Prepare material surfaces for painting by sanding, grinding, sand blasting, masking, as well as debris, dirt, and grease removal
  • Assist machinists with material preparation
  • Ability to interpret and use shop drawings, blueprints, and sketches
  • Unload supplier deliveries using hand trucks and palette jacks
  • Stock in-process materials
  • Sweep and mop floors
  • Perform all work related operations within government safety and environmental regulations
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area, and organization of tooling

Skills/Qualifications:

  • High school/Vocational school diploma or GED certificate or graduate of U.S. Navy “A” school, apprentice school or technical school.
  • Ability to obtain a CAT3 Crane Operator Certification
  • Ability to obtain Confined Spaces and Breathing Apparatus Certifications
  • Ability to perform grinding and sanding tasks in confined spaces when/where applicable
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance

Junior Programmer

Job Description

The junior programmer utilizes algorithmic thinking to design, develop, and test Training Systems Implementation Team (TSIT) products. The selected candidate will support the testing of eLearning courses, helping to ensure that all features function correctly and perform reliably within a Learning Management System (LMS) environment. The junior programmer will primarily be responsible to conduct test requirements such as SCORM conformance, cmi5 acceptance, and HTML validation to ensure products meet all technical requirements. Additionally, the junior programmer will evaluate new technologies and provide recommendations to improve computer-based training. Task and responsibilities in this role include:

  • Test and develop TSIT Interactive Multimedia Instruction.
  • Test and develop courses developed using digital twins.
  • Collaborate with others to create TSIT products.
  • Execute multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ensure consistency across all materials to set standards of appearance, content and style.
  • Research and remain current on emerging tools, trends and platforms to develop strategies and best practices for potential implementation company wide.

Education/Experience

Required:

  • Associate’s degree in Computer Science (minimum).
  • Ability to possess a DoD Secret clearance.

Preferred:

  • Experience in SCORM 2004 3rd and/or 4th edition standards and conformance test suite software.
  • Experience in cmi5 specification and conformance test suite software.
  • Experience with digital twins.
  • Experience in HTML, JSON, JavaScript, JQuery, CSS, Python and XML.
  • Experience in Adobe Captivate and Creative Cloud applications.
  • Active DoD Secret clearance.

Skills

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Sheet Metal Fabrication (5+ YRS EXP REQ)

Job Description

Systems Resource Management, Inc. (SRM) is currently seeking a full-time Sheet Metal Fabrication worker with 5+ years of experience in related work. This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of War (DoW) security clearance. In addition, you must be capable of obtaining certifications in compliance with the Military standards as a new or existing federal employee. Hours to be worked are 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM (first shift), Monday – Friday, with a possibility of over time when available. There are no second or third shifts options to work.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Make templates, lay-out and fabricate parts to perform a variety of sheet metal (non-HVAC) manufacturing services from customers’ blueprints, models and/or specifications to fabricate enclosures, domes, buoys, cabinets, etc.
  • Perform fabrication operations on aluminum, corrosion resistant steel, galvanized and mild steel, and other material sheets and shapes.
  • Perform drilling, nibbling, notching, forming, punching, and shearing.
  • Perform manual bending and/or power bending to produce V-shapes, U-shapes and channel shapes.
  • Roll sheet metal to achieve the specified material profile (such as cylindrical).
  • Cut sheet metal using bench, level or squaring shears.
  • Use manual benders or hydraulic press brakes to create seams, hems, conduits and covers.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • High school/vocational school diploma or GED certificate or graduate of U.S. Navy “A” school, apprentice school or technical school.
  • 5+ years of related work experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of War (DoW) security clearance.
